No, you dont have to, registration is available at the convention as well! It is cheaper to pre-register though, and for the outdoor venue no registration is required!
You do not! All of our attendees, regardless of age, are subject to the same code of conduct. On average, 30-40% of our attendees are under the ages of 19!
Of course! We will not be selling food directly within the con space, but there are also great food options located right within the DSU. We will be selling hamburgers and hot dogs (as well as Vegan options!) at our outdoor venue. Please just make sure no beverage is alcoholic.
Anthro East Coast is for anyone and everyone! You do not need to be a furry to attend, and most importantly you do not need a fursuit to have fun!
We will be having a designated fursuit lounge STRICTLY for fursuiters! The room is going to be monitored by a staff member, and will have water in it to keep our fursuiters comfortable. You may leave your fursuit in there, but please understand that we are not responsible for any lost items that you choose to leave unattended.
Yes! There will be a artists ally, so make sure you bring loads of cash! The DSU does have ATM on site as well if you forget :)
We are proud to say that the Dalhousie Student Union Building features two elevators and have plenty of gender neutral washrooms/accessible washrooms. The outdoor venue however, is on grass at the bottom of a hill and is more difficult to maneuver through. If you require any sort of assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us! We want to make this convention as accessible to everyone as we possibly can.
As per DSU regulations, pets are not permitted inside of the building (Note, that Service Animals are allowed!). Feel free to bring your furry friend to the outdoor venue though! If they are causing a disturbance however, we may request for them to be taken home.
Due to the nature of the convention, we are not scent aware and cannot assure our attendees that certain products will not enter the convention (ex. Peanut Butter, Strong Scents etc-). We ask that all of our attendees take precaution, and if they have severe allergies/or medical conditions that they carry an epi-pen and have proper identification (Medic Alert tags etc-).
Anthro East Coast is 100% run by volunteers, some who have been dedicating over 5 years to the event! Are you interested in volunteering your time for a duration of AEC? We are looking for some people to offer their time in order to help make AEC's first official year the very best! Yes we do! Anthro East Coast has a designated Dealers Den full of dealers who bring a wide variety of products and skills for you to purchase or commission!
For 2019, Vendors/Dealers tables are first come first serve. You are automatically accepted as a vendor when you pre-register under the correct tier (For this year is it 'Saloon Shop Keeper'!). As the Dealers Den becomes more in demand, we will take applications prior to approving artists. We will do this to ensure we have a variety of artists showcasing their work at the convention, to give everyone a fair and even chance! Please look at our Vendors Code of Conduct prior to purchasing a badge.

Anthro East Coast (AEC) is a two day convention that takes place in Halifax, Nova Scotia at the Dalhousie Student Union, and York Redoubt from August 17-18th, 2019. This year's theme is 'The Wild Wild West'! Originally referred to as just the 'OMGWTFBBQ', the 15th annual ‘meet’ has evolved into a two day convention that has adopted a new name Anthro East Coast. Running for its 15th year, It is the largest furry convention in Atlantic Canada hosting attendees from all over the Atlantic provinces, across Canada- and even from the United States! In 2018, we are happy to announce we had 128 attendees during the indoor portion of the event, and an estimated 150+ during the outdoor venue!
NOTE: Only the event on August 17th, 2019 requires registration!
