Thank you AEC attendees, 2017-2021

From the bottom of our hearts, we’d like to thank our attendees and fans over the past four years; without each and every one of you, we would’ve never grown to where we are today. ❤️

Over the past 4 years, Anthro East Coast has brought many Atlantic Canadians together to celebrate our diverse furry community through art, dance, fursuiting, and more. As a 100% volunteer-run organization, the Anthropomorphic Events Society of Nova Scotia facilitated and ran Anthro East Coast and the OMGWTFBBQ, overcoming many challenges faced by new conventions. Our directorial team consisted of several long-term volunteers, who had dedicated over a decade of their time to ensure the long-term success of these events and, without their hard work and determination, these events wouldn’t have grown to where they stand today. Each individual on our team brought a new perspective which allowed us to learn and grow alongside each other.

As the largest Canadian furry convention east of Ontario, Anthro East Coast grew exponentially in popularity and success, but with a rising attendee count also comes demand for more community support to keep operations running smoothly. Reaching out for more planning volunteers always left us disheartened, as we saw our small team unable to keep up with the demand of a growing convention, with a lack of volunteer interest. With that said, it is with great sadness that we announce that Anthro East Coast will no longer continue, and the Anthropomorphic Events Society of Nova Scotia will be disbanded as of September 1st, 2021.

This decision was certainly not easy to make; many factors were considered, countless options were explored, and ultimately, our team unanimously voted that it would be in our best interest to disband. However, the historic OMGWTFBBQ will continue in the years to come. Please stay tuned to our social feeds as we release more information.

As of May 11th, 2021, all refunds for 2020 pre-registrations should have been processed. If you have any outstanding questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact no later than August 27th, 2021. Additionally, all society revenue remaining after refunds will be kept securely within our directorial team to be used strictly for the OMGWTFBBQ and future events supporting the Atlantic Canadian furry community.

Anthro East Coast grew into something none of us could have ever imagined and, without our community’s help, love, and support, AEC wouldn’t have grown to where it is today. We’ll always cherish the laughs we had while meeting new friends, the good memories made while catching up with old ones, and appreciate the fun times we know we’re bound to have in the years to come.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for supporting Anthro East Coast. This is not ‘goodbye’, this is ‘see you later’!
